Overview

Trattoria Boni, nestled in the heart of Bologna on Via Don Luigi Sturzo, offers an authentic slice of Italian culinary tradition. This charming trattoria specializes in classic Emilia-Romagna dishes, serving up iconic plates like Tortellini In Brodo, Tagliatelle Al Ragù, and the rich Spaghetti Alla Chitarra Alla Norcina. Each dish reflects the region’s deep-rooted emphasis on fresh, high-quality ingredients and time-honored recipes that bring homemade warmth to the table.

The atmosphere at Trattoria Boni is cozy and inviting, marked by its reputation as a beloved local spot often bustling with residents. This makes it ideal for those seeking a genuine Italian dining experience beyond typical tourist paths. The service is notably attentive and friendly, with staff such as Elena guiding diners through the menu with personal recommendations, enhancing the overall experience.

Beyond pasta, the trattoria shines with specialties like the Spezzatino Di Cinghiale and the rustic Salumi Serviti Con Le Crescentine E Le Tigelle—traditional tastings that showcase the region's culinary heritage. The inclusion of house-made desserts like Dolce Bologna and Mascarpone with chocolate shavings adds a perfect sweet finish to the meal.

We recommend this good restaurant. Good foods and wines. Parking capacity is small, then its better to go by taxi.

We were a group of 4 and had reservations for a Monday evening. We had a wonderful meal of the L’Rustica platter (excellent!), Lasagne, the Cotoleta with mushrooms and the arosto del Giorno- all were delicious. The meal was finished with dessert and wine as well as after dinner drinks. The was one of our most enjoyable meals in Bologna- thank you. And it didn’t break the bank !

We were just looking for a quick bite in the area and we stumbled upon Boni. We were so happy that we did! The staff were so sweet and gave us a table on a very busy Sunday even though we had no reservations. The place was packed with locals and they all seemed to be enjoying themselves a lot. We had a very sweet server, Elena, who guided us on what we should have. All her recommendations were on point. It was one of the best meals we had on our whole trip, would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Bologna!

Superbe and traditional trattoria in Bologna which serves unique dishes: tortellini, lasagne, tagliatelle, mortadella, squacquerone cheese and much more. It's worth it to go, don't miss eat! Remember to book in advance

We had a wonderful lunch at this traditional, very welcoming trattoria. We shared a lasagne verdi, and a ricotta tortelloni, both of which were beautifully made- you could tell the work and love that had gone into both. We also had a carafe of house wine (incredible value at €5, and delicious too). The staff were incredibly warm and friendly and very kind to us given we don't speak much Italian! I would highly recommend coming here during a stay in Bologna.

Delicious food and we have even been served and tended to by the master chef himself, who gave us a brief history lesson on local cuisine. Very friendly atmosphere, though the nice lady at the check-in was a little bit overzealous with checking the vaccination certificates (March 30th,'22), but I take it as a good coin. Unquestionably recommended venue to eat out.
